For one of our Clients- international IT company, leader in programming for aviation, marine and railway sectors, we are currently looking for Global IT Director.
Person on this position manages employees and mid-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering. Marine domain knowledge will be an advantage. IT Director develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Also acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Main responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Essential functions of IT Director: Develops and implements large-scale, high impact integrated organizational plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved. Reviews plans' execution, makes appropriate adjustments, and resolves issues. Evaluates feasibility of plans and makes decisions to continue or discontinue programs, projects or processes as appropriate.
Determines critical skills within an organization or functional area; develops and implements staffing and development plans to ensure necessary skills are available within the company. Reviews, approves and implements facility, equipment and service plans to maximize productivity and ensure safety, security, environmental and regulatory compliance. Coordinates with providers to achieve timely delivery of resources. Manages subordinate staff. Forecasts resource needs and makes hiring decisions. Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provides ongoing developmental feedback. Makes compensation recommendations in regards to hiring salaries and salary review actions. Develops organizational, business and technical strategies, goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategy. Measures progress to plan. Holds leadership team accountable for achieving goals. Establishes partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports. Builds strategic partnerships with external agencies and organizations to advance company’s position on key issues. Proactively communicates with leadership team, peers (e.g, fellow senior managers) and customers. Keeps others informed by communicating business vision and strategies, program or project status, conducting and participating in leadership meetings, providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions. Builds organizational culture that values open and honest communication. Communicates appropriate policies and directives to enhance employee awareness and clarify expectations. Creates and executes supplier technical oversight plans for internal/external sources. Recommends disposition of supplier deliverables. Interfaces with suppliers and subcontractors for verification and validation of requirements. Integrates supplier activities across the organizations.
Ideal candidate should have: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in a related field of study and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree is preferred with 10 or more years of related work. Advanced level of English is required. Knowledge of policies and procedures that typically affect subordinate organizational units. Ability to accomplish results through subordinate managers and subordinate staff. Ideal candidate determines and establishes the organization structure of centralized functions and units and is skilled in the operation of activities of major significance to the organization. Directly participates in establishing and administering multiple projects. Ensures that overall budgets, schedules and performance standards are realistically set and attained. Ideal candidate represents the organizational unit as prime internal and external contact on contracts or operations. Interacts with managers or executives concerning matters of significance to the company.
